Maid Marian Relay

We don't have any current plans to organise a Maid Marian relay this year.  However, we will review this later in the Summer with a view to doing something in the Autumn.  Please keep checking this website for details.
 

Maid Marian Mile 2008
 
Returning for its third successive year, the Maid Marian 4x1 mile team relay event took place on Thursday 22nd May 2008 at the Forest Recreation Ground (Goose Fair site) in Nottingham. A full results listing can be found here.
 
Well done to Hoofers, Bobalongs and WDTH (Heart 106FM) for winning each of the events. The top three in each category were as follows:

Men's
1. Hoofers Health Club - 23 minutes 44 seconds
2. The Happy Snappers (Evening Post) - 23m 56s
3. Pavement Pounders (Scott Wilson) - 24m26s
 
Women's
1. Bobalongs - 25 minutes 29 seconds
2. Speedo's (Tenon) - 31m 21s
3. Talented (Experian) - 33m 21s
 
Mixed Workplace Challenge
1. WDTH (Heart 106FM) - 25 minutes 0 seconds
2. Transformers - 25m 15s
3. Huffers & Puffers A (Sport England) - 26m 06s
 
We also had some especially quick individual times, with Matt Alexander and Sarah Maude clocking the quickest male and female splits respectively. Sarah not only clocked 5minutes 18seconds for her last leg, but also 5m 19s for the first - impressive running!
 
Matt went slightly quicker with a time of 5 minutes and 3 seconds - just outside the magical sub 5 minutes! Well done to both who each win a Polar Heart Rate Monitor.

The Maid Marian mile consists of teams of four runners (or walkers), each completing a 1 mile circuit before handing over to their next team member.  There are three categories:
  • Work Place Challenge (maximum 2 men)
  • Male
  • Female
Whether you are a group of friends, a local business, members of a sports team, or non-runners looking to get fit, the Maid Marian Mile Team Relay is a great event to get involved in.

Fastest female - to be confirmed as not all teams advised us of a change in running order. Please can you check the results and advise us of any changes as soon as possible. We will then announce the fastest female who will also win a Polar Heart Rate Monitor.
